Chamber Music Palisades Announces its 18th Season for 2014-2015
At precisely eight o’clock PM on Tuesday, November 4, extraordinary violinist Ida Levin will take center stage in the stunning sanctuary of St. Matthew’s Parish in Pacific Palisades and the 18th season of chamber music presented by Chamber Music Palisades will be underway. The roster of outstanding artists who will join Ms. Levin through the four-concert season will include near-legendary violinist Roger Wilkie, violist Scott Woolweaver, and cellists Peter Myers and Sarah Rommel as the strings. The winds will be Andrew Bain on French horn, bassoonist Judy Farmer, and oboist Jennifer Johnson. A special guest artist will be tenor John Russell.
Sounds great, doesn’t it! But, what are they playing?
The music will be magical — from Vivaldi and Schubert to Poulenc and Britten plus two surprises: world-premiere performances of works commissioned by CMP by Los Angeles-based composers Stephen Cohn and Mark Carlson.
The excitement will begin on November 4 and continue through May 12. Don’t miss a single fabulous concert.
